Donated for a charity auction to the Senior Nutrition Program. Special thanks to Susan George :-)

Red & White

I plan on keeping these two hats for my girls in case they have girls themselves. I am thankful that my Mom held onto as many unique and now vintage items from my childhood as she did.

The Original Octopus

The Original Octopus.....if you are interested in a onesie like this one, please visit my etsy site: www.JSummersDesign.etsy.com.

I would love to make your little one their own custom piece.

Making a Flying Purple People Eater

The Flying Purple People Eater was a last minute costume a few days before Halloween last year, and it turned out to be one of my favorites!

Big Sis had at least 7 different costumes (at least one per day the week before Halloween), one of which was the zebra. She had a tutu zebra dress under he zebra coat. I made the ears and tail from white jean material, a black fabric marker and yarn. About 10 minutes before these photos she was wearing black and white striped pants too- yay for potty training!

Below is also the Wonder Woman costume that was mine as a kid. I crocheted a yellow headband and bracelets to match it. Other costumes included a pirate, ballerina, and a princess.

DIY Chevron Project on an Old Bookcase

Chevron patterns are everywhere & my daughter's bookshelf badly needed a makeover. Perfect! This project was relatively easy to recreate with very little materials needed. I got this bookshelf for free from a neighbor, and with a fresh coat of paint it now has a new funky fresh life to it. *Note: make sure to press firmly on your painters tape prior to spray painting, and also be sure to remove existing paint/stain if needed.

Happy End of March & A New Blog

What happens when you have kids, long naps, and a digging NEED to create something? DIY's, Purple people eater hats, octopus hats, kids crafts, timeless vintage, flowers flowers and more flowers, scarves, fashion  and much more eye candy that inspires me and hopefully you too.

Hi! Welcome to JSummersDesign! My name is Jessica. I am a stay at home Mom of two wonderful little girls, and the owner & creative force behind JSummersDesign, where I make Custom Crochet.

A few years ago I started obsessively searching DIY blogs and watching utube videos, which lead me to find crochet! I have been hooked ever since.  I began knitting scarves a few Christmas's ago and then moved on to crocheting hats. After making numerous hats for my girls (who practically wear a different one every day now!), and then over 40 this past Christmas for family members, I decided to open up my own custom crochet store. I love how organic and free flowing handmade crochet can be. All of my designs are custom from my own patterns. I take inspiration from images and books, but give it my own spin.
